A Better View
Starting a new chapter in my photo journey. I’m spending too much time posting individual photos to sites directly related to their content and then reposting on Facebook, X, Instagram, Behance, and a few others depending upon the photo subject.
An example is The Good Thing That Happened to Me Today photo, above, from breakfast this morning with my grandson and his other grandfather. I spared them being my subjects and made the view an act of remembrance. That photo would end up on several social media sites all requiring separate logins and procedures for posting requiring an allotted amount of time and energy to complete. As would several other photos I made today.
I want more time to create and spend less time on social media. It will also give me more time to dedicate to The Continuance from The Westerville News.
I will continue to post My Final Photo on Facebook and Instagram.
If you want to continue to see the photography I make subscribe to this newsletter and The Continuance. You’ll get a copy in your email every day with notes about the photos I’ve made or were published in The Continuance.
Subscribe to The Continuance from The Westerville News, a daily newsletter about Westerville. This newsletter will include details about some of those photos and how they were made.
I know that some people might be upset that I’m no longer going to be posting on so many different sites and social media apps for some of my photos.
The photos will still be here, in the newsletter. A better place to tell you what I’m doing and why. There’s no algorithm here.
My Final Photo - November 1, 2023
A heavy layer of cumulus clouds float across Hoover Reservoir and Dam after an overnight freeze and dusting of snow in Westerville. My Final Photo for November 1, 2023. This is a panorama stitched from five photos made with a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone. Stitched in Adobe Camera RAW. Also edited in Luminar Neo.
Also made with the Mini 3 Pro DJI drone. Stitched panorama from three photos.
Grilled sausage, green beans, corn, maters, horseradish bread and butter pickles, and spicy sweet pickles. A traditional Southern meal.
Notes:
Almost everything I shoot goes through Luminar Neo. Even after I’ve made the first edit of my raw file in Adobe Camera Raw. I’ve built my own set of Luminar presets for the places and things I normally shoot and for different lighting conditions at those places. Then it’s easy to adjust the results to fine-tune each photo. This is an affiliate link so I might make a little something from sale. Download it for the trial period.
