Worked to make a two-frame panorama of the eastern sky as a kayaker pulled his craft from Hoover Reservoir. I thought two frames would be sufficiently wide enough to get the full width of the cloud for the background.
The two frames, at first, looked great. The frame for the right side had the paddle facing the right side. The frame on the left side had the paddle facing the opposite way. I knew seeing how Photoshop handled the panorama stitching would be interesting.
Above is the result. Photoshop used the paddle on the left. I had not noticed that one frame had the full width of the kayak while the other had it in profile.
Photoshop used a little bit of both photos to create a Frankenstein kayak that definitely wouldn’t float. The boater appears to have his left foot embedded in the kayak and his left hip cuts off at the horizon.
Below are the two original photos before the stitching. Below them is another two-frame stitched panorama that did work.
