I made this photo of Westerville artist Dennis Rano more than a decade ago. Truth be told, I used an iPhone app to make it from another photo.
After all this time, the app is no longer available in the app store. I’m not even sure if I remember the name or the best way to describe the app.
That’s probably a good thing, as I would overuse it trying to match the vibrancy and dynamism of this wonder portrait of an artist whose talent lies in his ability to transform photographs into wonderful pieces of conceptual art.
Even if the app were to return to the app store suddenly, I wouldn’t download it.
This is excellent and not worth trying to improve on with any subject.
