Arrival, Departure And Parking
Getting the best photos from an event, an assignment, or an interview has nothing to do with your visual prowess.
The noon Ash Wednesday Lenten service at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is crowded almost like it’s the Easter service. An overflowing parking lot and full pews make the opening day of Easter difficult and filled with the mournful cry of parishioners looking for parking and seating, appropriate for the beginning of the season.
I didn’t have a problem parking or seating because I know the photographer rules for attending large events. Events with too many cars and people.
Arrive early. Stay late. Park near the exit.
Getting early to an assignment whether it’s an event, an individual, or a portrait, always pays off. There is time to survey the scene seeing if it’s what was expected and your early ideas for photos can continue.
