Before Cutting The Hay
The farmer was ready even if it was a later cut than what he had planned. The cut was delayed due to what he said was a challenging summer. There wasn’t anything to explain. Farmers are generally Stoics, accepting things the way they are and not as obstacles to get in their way but as challenges to raising better crops. He’d wished it could have been cut sooner.
The troubles weren't over, even after the delay caused by the undescribed summer problems. After two passes around the Sharp Farm hay field, something snapped—something on the mower.
Fixing it with new parts would take another day.
