You might be getting tired of seeing this photo somewhere in your newsletter, email, and social media feed but here it is again with a note of explanation.
This is an iPhone photo made in panorama mode with the 1X lens. The phone was turned on its side to shoot vertical, not horizontal. The panorama function doesn’t care about the orientation of the camera, only the direction it moves.
Quickly edited in Lightroom and Snapseed. This was the first frame I shot and the first Lightroom edit with LUT adjustment.
On the evening of the ice sculpture we saw you trying something with the iphone at Graeters, having a boy move from one side of the sculpture around to the other. Was that a panorama trial? I recall stories of older group panorama shots of university classes where somebody from one end of the photo would sprint around to the other end of the group so he could be in the short twice.
