Dave and The Cluttered Background
If you’ve been reading my newsletters for some time you know how I lamented not making photos of people I see often. Dave is one of those people. So now, when I encounter Dave in my travels, I make his photo. Today he was holding court in Cinda Lou’s in Uptown and made me wait a moment until he could get one of the Westerville Dave decals the store sells. I waited. I don’t think Dave would have expected either photo as I made one with a full background to set the location and environment. And the second focused on the decal.
I think I inadvertently upset these herbalists at the Seed and Plant Exchange at the library this afternoon when I referred to them as a cluttered background for a portrait of mother and child with their exchange finds. I wanted a clear background for the portrait and had the two people move across the room. The cluttered background individuals lightly snidely shooed me away for a different view.
