Don't Ever Do This
It’s not 1968 with Timothy Leary turning on and tuning out with the world rapidly spinning and rotating and rushing about. There’s no good reason to shoot a slow shutter speed and rapidly rotating the zoom lens to achieve an effect that is probably more akin to a bad acid trip than reality.
I was just playing, having a trip just seeing what the result would be with the wide-angle zoom after I’d made a few normal stills.
It was interesting, but I went to the city council meeting once I’d sobered up from the experimental phase and recognized that the slow shutter speed rapid zoom technique had nothing to do with the subject I’d been shooting.
The next step is to find a subject that would benefit from such a technique.
