Final Flags
Field of Heroes Final Tributes
At the conclusion of the three-day tribute to veterans, flags from the Westerville Field of Heroes are removed by their owners. The flags were among the more than 3,000 displayed at the sports field at the community center.
When requested, each flag was folded into a three-pointed 13-fold shape. Each flag was given a certificate of authenticity for its appearance at the Field of Heroes.
Carole McCutcheon bugled Taps to end the closing ceremonies Monday afternoon.
Although the military flyover was canceled because of the weather, a later kite flyer offered a substitute performance.
