Pulled this from the archive several days ago and have been thinking about the kids.
The photo was made on a field trip to Inniswood with the four kids who took my photo course when I had a studio space at Gallery 202 on the second floor of where Amish Originals now sits.
The course was rudimentary, designed for kids to become comfortable with their cameras. When this photo was taken in 2011, small consumer point-and-shoots were relatively inexpensive. It was long before every kid this age had a phone.
I’m now wondering what ever happened to this quartet. Photographers, perhaps? In College? Married?
I’m also struck by the poses.
From the left are a horizontal shooter, a vertical shooter, looking over the camera instead of the view screen, and a flash going off.
The same four in part of Gallery 202 in 2011.
The eyes on the kid in green look very familiar. I’ll have to ask his parents just in case it’s him.
