Good And Better
Made a return trip today to the West College home where I’ve worked to make photos of the leaves.
The second blanket of leaves made the above photo my Good Thing for the day.
I was fortunate enough to find a leaf lined up in the spray of light coming around the tree.
Shot at F22 to give me the star pattern from the lens diaphragm blades.
Made almost the same photo with my iPhone but it doesn’t have the same impact as the starburst effect of a normal lens.
The pattern from the sun is more irregular, more flared than the first photo. The primary iPhone camera lens has a fixed f-stop of 1.7, much wider than the Nikon lens. The wider aperture, the less expensive lens, and the smaller sensor all add up to an effect that is drastically different than a standard camera.
I much prefer the top photo although I’m sure there will be someone who appreciates the iPhone photo just as much.
Almost everything I shoot goes through Luminar Neo. Even after I’ve made the first edit of my raw file in Adobe Camera Raw. I’ve built my own set of Luminar presets for the places and things I normally shoot and for different lighting conditions at those places. Then it’s easy to adjust the results for fine-tuning each photo. This is an affiliate link so I might make a little something from sale. Download it for the trial period.
