Just Blur It
Began making photographs of these guys blowing leaves from the boulevard along Maxtown Road and quickly decided that no matter what I shot the background was going to be a subject that would interfere with any photo of the workers blowing leaves.
A rule I tried to teach other photographers was to watch the background. If it contributed to the story include it. If it didn’t eliminate it.
Today wasn’t a day or scene where I could eliminate easily the background, so I used a slow shutter speed to blur the primary subject and used the blurred surroundings as contributing elements.
Shot up close with the 14mm to exaggerate the curved movement.
