Similar But Not My Final Photo
I continue to be visually fascinated by the chalky coating of salt brine dried on the streets in Westerville. Monday’s My Final Photo showed West Main overlaid in the thick dust, ready for the next snowfall. Not wanting to repeat myself with a similar photo, this photo of State and College stayed in my local gallery instead of being chosen as My Final. It easily could have been My Final, but the sky was clear and blue, the lights were bright, and it had been a while since I’d made a photo of the Shell Station the previous day.
The Blue Plate Special Kitchen
My normal breakfast fare is an omelet. This one is standard: a hearty two-egg omelet filled with colorful ingredients, including chunks of tomato, slices of jalapeño, and diced ham. The omelet has a slightly puffed texture, indicating a soft and fluffy interior. Coffee and fruit juice for drinks.
Beside the omelet is a mound of crispy home fries seasoned with herbs for added flavor. Toasted croissant bread spread with peanut butter and raspberry preserves completes the breakfast, adding sweetness and vibrant color to the plate.
The checkered blue and white plate, reminiscent of classic diner style, provides a clean backdrop that highlights the food's colors.
The Good Thing That Happened to Me Today
I’m always excited when I take a moment to just explore possibilities. I’ve made so many photos of the Highlands wetland that I often just drive past and think that it would require much effort to find something new, different, or better.
On my way to the Shell station for yesterday’s My Final Photo, I reluctantly stopped at the wetland, telling myself that I would limit my time in the brutal cold to a few minutes and that if I didn’t see a photo, I wouldn’t linger.
I stepped out of the car and walked to the pond, which was immediately in front of me. The sunset and transition to the dark sky were perfect for a quick photo on my iPhone. Editing in Lightroom for effect and style made this a good thing to have happened.
