The Blurred Blue Car
The greatest thing about Nikon’s mirrorless cameras is stabilization.
My purpose in shooting this photo at 1/10th of a second was to blur the cars moving past the majestic, in full bloom, Japanese Maple on South State.
Using higher shutter speeds would have eliminated the sense of motion, resulting in a more static and flat view of the tree. The blurred motion, however, provides a creative opportunity to capture the beauty that surrounds us at any moment of the day. We often focus on other aspects of our lives and neglect to take the time to appreciate the beauty around us.
I shot this handheld. 1/10th of a second, long enough to blur the car and short enough for Nikon to stabilize any camera movement.
A new, very effective tool to use.
