
I took numerous photos during the Sunday concert, including one where I photographed each conductor candidate using pieces of the orchestra as framing devices.
It worked very well, as shown in the one with Davis below, which shows the objective.
I have all the candidates in similar poses but chose the top photo for My Final Photo because of the rain.
As she took to the conductor’s podium, the rain returned, causing the prescient members of the audience to raise their umbrellas, creating a colorful, rhythmic pattern that is always missing when I used the amphitheater crowd as a background.
I tried moving a few steps to the right to spread the umbrellas across the entire background, but the microphone stand on the right, sitting between the two of us, fell close to her face.
Fortunately, her expression and action carry the photo without a perfect background.
