The Perfect Fishing Hole Except For ...
A Choice of Angles
I chose the more picture postcard perfect photo as today’s My Final Photo, at the bottom of the newsletter. Great sidelight shining directly on the kid fishing. The viewer’s attention is directed to him by the framing of the shorelines and the Main Street Bridge in the background. The bridge is also a recognizable and familiar location giving the viewer location and relationship to the fisherman.
The second-best photo is the one above. It is a reverse angle of My Final Photo looking downstream at a slightly elevated view. Same great sideline and concentric ripple circles but without the background for location and familiarity for the viewer.
I vacillated between the two as each is a very strong storytelling photo. Either would have been great as My Final Photo for Saturday.
The postcard aspect of My Final Photo is the deciding factor. It’s more picturesque than the more dynamic angle with the larger set of ripples.
Of all the photos I made of these guys fishing my favorite is below. So much for picturesque.
