The Pizza Picture
Last year for National Pizza Day I made photos of my pie orders at Cardinal Pizza, left, and Pasquale’s Pizza, to make note of the day and to have a little of each left over for the following morning’s breakfast.
This year I wanted to make a photo at Cardinal Pizza as an honor for owner Bob Williamson who died last week. Talked myself into Cardinal’s kitchen in the middle of the afternoon where I thought I’d have a better chance of making a photo than during the Friday evening rush. In the afternoon there would be fewer orders to make photos of, but I’d have more room to move around without getting in the way and eventually getting tossed like the pizza dough I wanted to photograph.
Quickly arranged myself near the doughboy as he prepped dough for the evening rush. He had no great concern with my hovering at his station where he passed dough through a roller expanding it enough so he could toss it. Then tossing it in a way that I knew from this angle I wouldn’t be getting much of a photo.
Below is the continued narrative for paid subscribers about my choices in finding a way to make My Final Photo in a limited amount of time and a small space.
