Why I always wear waterproof boots.
Any good news photographer has no idea where the search for a photo will lead or if the need to make a photo from an assignment will put them in a governor’s office or slogging through alluvial rocks and mud along the shoreline of a man-made reservoir.
The day begins with clean, polished shoes and can end with pants, socks, shoes, and sometimes a camera soiled with glacial till and its family members.
Always wear waterproof shoes. Even if going to see the governor.
