Three To Make One
I published this photo in three places today: The Westerville News, My Final Photo, and here.
It’s worth noting what makes it unique enough to be shown in all three publications.
I’d observed the work being done at the intersection all this week and hadn’t taken any photos. Every time I approached the intersection, a police officer directed traffic as the signal system was being completely rebuilt, and the lights weren’t working.
Today, there was activity on a single pole as the final wiring for the backlit street sign was being done. Since there wasn’t a police officer to hold traffic, it was impossible for me to venture into the street for the best angle on the final aerial work.
The drone was the best angle despite presenting a few problems. FAA rules do not allow flying over traffic, restricting my drone to the curb. With their permission, I positioned it near the workers and made three photos, each one at a slightly different horizontal position. Even with the wide-angle lens on the drone, I was too close to get the street sign and the bucket lift into a single frame.
The three photos above were combined into a single-frame panorama edited in Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop to give me a wide-angle slight telephoto view of the work.
